...I was born in Austria.
...I went to school in Wels, Austria (Electrical Engineering Degree 1990).
...I studied in Linz, Austria (MS in Business Informatics 1996).
I was an ERASMUS student in Antwerp, Belgium and
a PhD student in Orono, Maine, USA, and Aalborg, Denmark (PhD in Computer Science 2000)....I was teaching at Aalborg University (see below).
...I am working on
basic research problems in databases such as the handling of spatiotemporal data. This work was initiated by the CHOROCHRONOS project, served as my PhD topic and is still continued. Important in this context is spatiotemporal data. For data generators check the GSTD Homepage maintained by Yannis Theodoridis, or Thomas Brinkhoffs data generator. I collected some links to real spatiotemporal datasets.
Check out my related application/research pages at www.chorochronos.com.
More recent projects in the area of spatiotemporal databases are DB-Globe and KinesisMiner.
I am also co-operating with the Educational Technologies Sector of CTI on Web-related educational technologies.
...I have co-authered papers. Alternatively check DBLP.
...I am serving in 2006/2007 on the program committees of GIScience, W2GIS, IFIP (tutorials), Workshop on Mobile Location-Aware Sensor Networks (MDM conference), CoMoGIS'06, ACMGIS 2006, 3rd International Workshop on Spatio-Temporal Database Management STDBM 2006, MDM'07
and I am the Demo Chair of MDM'07 ....and the final frontier!
